Angora SG House

Located in the prestigious Çayyolu district of Ankara, the 150 square meter home of the Baran family in Angora Evleri was meticulously designed to suit the homeowners’ lifestyle and preferences. The overall concept of the house emphasizes the calming and serene effect of white, balanced with natural materials. With a modern and timeless aesthetic, white is paired with natural materials such as wood and marble, ensuring the home maintains a warm and natural atmosphere. The tranquility of white is subtly contrasted with the refined touches of wood textures and motifs, adding depth to the space. The clean and peaceful effect of white, combined with the warming and characterful texture of wood, brings both warmth and elegance to the space. This combination ensures that each area strikes a balance between aesthetics and functionality, creating a more relaxing and inviting atmosphere throughout the home.

The transition corridors go beyond the typical corridor concept, designed as an art gallery. These areas were transformed into exhibit points of the home with specially commissioned paintings. The lighting was designed to highlight and focus on the artwork, turning the corridors into a small gallery space. Additionally, curved lines were used to eliminate the angular layout of the space, providing smooth transitions in the design. This approach created both an aesthetic and functional cohesion.

In the living area, brass and marble details added elegance to the space. Oak marquetry flooring helped evoke a warm and inviting feel. In addition, in the transition corridors, wooden paneling that continues along the walls was designed in harmony with the living room. These details enhanced the overall cohesion and warmth of the space.

Curved lines were used in the design of the master bedroom and living room to create an inward-focused and distinctly emphasized aesthetic. These design choices helped the spaces achieve a more fluid and integrated appearance, both visually and functionally. In the master bedroom, the design combines the comfort of a hotel with the warmth of a home, with a color palette of darker and warmer tones, creating a dim and calming environment. This approach ensures the room offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

The kitchen was designed to match the Baran family’s passion for cooking; not just a space for preparing meals, but also a living area where time is joyfully spent. With the use of long-lasting materials, the kitchen strikes a perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality.
